Leiden Biologist Association

Welcome to the website of the Leiden Biology Association (LBC), the place to be for biologists in Leiden. The LBC was founded in November 1923 and organizes activities for its 300 members.

The LBC organizes study related and non-study related activities. Study related activities include field excursions or outings to biology oriented companies, symposia and an annual abroad study-trip (mostly to European countries). Non study related activities include drinks, parties, barbecues, movie nights and weekend trips.

All these events cannot be provided by the six-headed board alone and therefore we depend on many different committees that are also run by biology students. If you’re interested in participating in a committee, for instance if you like organizing excursions, please contact the board.

Furthermore, if you have any problems related to your biology studies at Leiden University, don't hesitate to contact the LBC. One of the main tasks of the LBC lies in representing all biology students studying at Leiden University.

Join us If you feel like going to parties, want to learn more about biology by catching bats, birds or butterflies or if you are just in for a good laugh, we would really recommend becoming a member of the LBC!

Becoming a member is easy: just send an email to the board and profit from your reduction on entrance-tickets for our activities. The annual contribution amounts to €12,50 or €14,00, which depends on your payment method.
